Vehicle Description
I drove this El Camino almost 200 miles—-it drives in a single word…..INCREDIBLE!
I drove it to a car judging show and it was no surprise when we were awarded “BEST IN CLASS”.
If Pebble Beach decided to have a class for El Caminos, this is the one you would want to take and enter in the Concourse D’Elegance. This El Camino is as good as it gets….It is for the collector who wants and demands the best of the best….they just don’t come any better or any more documented than this!
I drove this car for several hours a few weeks ago, both on the Florida Turnpike at 70MPH and all around Boca Raton, DelRay Beach and Palm Beach and it drives phenomenal.
No vibrations or noises that shouldn’t be there…the Brakes are great, it shifts silky smooth and the AC blows ICE COLD. The air-conditioning got so cold, even on the lowest fan speed, I had to turn it off and lower the windows…. Actually fresh air on a Florida 85 degree day with no humidity is not so bad.
All the gauges work correctly, all the lights (interior & exterior), turn signals, brake & back-up lights, parking lights, horn, wipers, heater, defroster,AC and the stereo hidden in the glove box sounds fabulous. The interior looks fantastic and the car’s engine and transmission feels and performs like a new car from 1964… not anything like one who expect from a 52 year old automobile.
I looked long and hard to see if I could find any evidence that bondo might have been used in the restoration process but could NOT find any. A magnetic business card sticks every where on the body of this car. This car is ARROW STRAIGHT and the paint, chrome, trim are of SHOW QUALITY. They just don’t come any better than this!
Please have anyone you choose to come and inspect this #1 Condition rare El Camino or better yet, please come yourself.
Included with this car are the following:

- Original NAPA Gold Hat Motor Club Maintenance log (with entries)
- Original Delco AM/FM owner’s manual
- Display Card used to describe this car and to win a countless number of 1st place awards.
- I drove this car all around South Florida….I am hard pressed to remember when I’ve received as many honks, waves, thumbs up and people actually stopping & getting out of their cars to take photos of this car.
I realize most would call this car a “Trailer Queen” I really don’t like this name given to any vintage car that is restored to this #1 level…and to be blunt, we do not want to sell this car to anyone who is just wants to put it inside a trailer and take it to car shows to win a “best of show” or 1st place award. That’s fine but this car should be driven so you can appreciate what it was like to drive an El Camino equipped like this in 1964.
This car should be enjoyed and driven. If you want to take it to a car show thats a few hundred miles away… then PLEASE drive it to and from the show. Your smile will be as broad as mine was when I spent a few hours driving it around South Florida on a gorgeous day.
I started off with the AC on and the windows up…..but the AC blows so cold…and the weather was so glorious today… that after twenty minutes, I lowered all the windows, turned off the AC and cranked up the FM station playing oldies and enjoyed this great South Florida day.
