Most Ford dealers were not aware of this special “P” Police interceptor engine package.

AM/FM push button radio.

One of the unique features when this Police interceptor
engine “P” package was ordered was the triple carburetors
and aluminum intake manifold, along with a special solid
lifter camshaft and solid lifters which were all stashed in the
trunk and were installed by the delivering dealership.
To keep the cost of insurance at a lower level for the buyers of
this car, Ford said the addition of the tri-power, special cam
& lifters, and cast iron special headers only raised the horsepower
from 330 to 340. Who were they trying to kid? In realty these
special “P” engines pushed out 401 horsepower.
The paint, body, chrome, interior, engine compartment, dash,
trim, and undercarriage are as good as it gets.
The fit on both doors, hood, trunk are all factory correct.
When you look down the sides of this car it is arrow-straight.
All the windows roll up & down with ease and the weather striping
is excellent.
This car starts right up the 1st time….every time. I have driven it in bumper
to bumper traffic and has never overheated. (it was 95 degrees today in Pompano Beach)
Everything works…..including the radio, horn, wipers, turn signals, heater/defroster,
headlights, parking lights, backup lights, dash and interior courtesy lights. Should you want
vintage air-conditioning installed, we can have it done for $1495 and it comes with
a one year warranty.
I drove this car today on the Florida turnpike at 70mph and there are no vibrations
or noises….it tracks arrow straight and the brakes are excellent. Tomorrow we are having
the car serviced….changing the oil, replacing the oil filter and lubricating the chassis and checking
all the fluids…it will have a full tank of gas and be ready for it’s next lucky owner who will love
this very special Galaxie 500XL Sport coupe
It shifts smoothly with no synchro or grinding noises. Among the many bills and receipts
is an invoice that documents the complete rebuilding of the transmission.
The clutch works perfect, does not slip and is easy to depress and operate.
Included are $1000’s and $1000’s of dollars for the restoration work and maintenance that
was done over the life of this car and all bills and receipts will be included.
There is no official record of how many of the 42 built cars like this have survived
but after 53 years if between 15%-20% are still on the road that would translate to
somewhere between 6-9 cars. However, in this condition and with this low of actual miles
we are confident this is the very best example left in the world.
This is a Platinum investment true muscle car that still has it’s all matching numbers
power train.
The documentation on this car is very extensive. It all will accompany the sale of this car
and a computer laptop bag is included which contains all of the paperwork, manuals
and magazines this car has been featured.
If you really fussy and only want the best of the best…you have found it. We would welcome your
personal inspection or hire the inspection company of your choice.

your home, we can issue you a 30 day drive away tag….We never charge any type of dealer fees.
