This Sunbeam Tiger was inspected and received it’s Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association
Certificate of Authenticity on April 19th, 2014.
The matching numbers Tiger retains its original Ford 260cid V-8, 4/speed top loader manual
transmission and rear end.
It was treated to a professional, no expense spared rotisserie restoration in 2007 in California.
In carefully examining this car I could find no evidence of bondo in the body which makes us
believe this was a rust free car prior to the restoration.
I had the pleasure of driving this car several miles and loved every mile and every shift. It fired up
the first time, idled smooth and was very responsive. The exhaust system on this Tiger give the
quick revving 260 V-8 a deep throaty sound that was music to my ears…..and will be to yours as well.
The factory rated these cars at 164hp with a 2 barrel and stock exhaust.
This beautiful Tiger has the LAT options that include the 4bbl carburetor, Tiger valve covers and
wheels.
With the custom exhaust and 4bbl carburetor we think a 185hp is closer to this V-8’s output.
All the Jaeger gauges work correctly and I was pleased to see 60 lbs of oil pressure at idle.
The custom leather interior is very well done and the Convertible top is in new condition. It
has never seen sun or rain since installed.
This Tiger has been professionally painted in it’s factory original color of British Racing Green (Base/Clear)
It has it’s original steering wheel and AOR cleaner. If you have a Tiger and are looking for an original AOR
air cleaner you probably know they are practically impossible to find these days.
These fabulous sports car were only produced for two years.
A Tiger with the pedigree of this car and in this condition are “Blue Chip” investment cars and will
continue to appreciate in value.
Sunbeam Tigers Mark I’s were produced 1964-1966. A total of 2,694 Roadster were produced in 1966.
In 1967 only 536 Mark II Roadsters were made…then production ceased…these had the Ford 289cid V-8 rated at 200hp.
